Service Description
Dialectical Behavior Therapy focuses on 4 primary modules for skill development: Mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Originally developed by Marsha Linehan these sessions are not meant to replace a year-long DBT program, but instead offer more specific skill assessment in order to further support your other therapeutic goals. DBT skill sessions will focus on building coping mechanisms each week to help manage symptoms that are becoming problematic outside of therapy. For more intensive skill work these sessions can be helpful when scheduled weekly or bi-weekly in conjunction with regular therapy. All sessions are currently being conducted via telehealth. I am looking forward to moving towards in-person therapy sessions soon. Given the need for safety - no sessions will be conducted while you are operating a moving vehicle or in a situation where therapy would put you at risk.
